Due to Sunday’s (11/15) announcement from the MDHHS and Governor Whitmer, the MHSAA has suspended all sports activities (practices and competitions) effective immediately through at least December 8. Practice for middle school competitive cheer begins on Monday, 11/16. Practice will take place in Baseline’s cafeteria from 3:00-5:00 pm. There is still a good deal of uncertainty about winter sports and how they will be run this year, but South Haven Athletics wants to provide some tentative dates for parents. This week we will begin voluntary workouts for all middle and high school girls planning to cheer this fall. The workouts will take place on Wednesday (6/24) and Thursday (6/25) from 5:00-7:00 PM at the South Haven High School. Girls should plan to meet near the South gym doors for screening. The MS competitive cheer team has added a competition this Saturday, February 1, at Kalamazoo Central High School. This competition will be their last of the season, and will begin at 10:00 am in Kalamazoo.
Cheer tryouts for the high school competitive cheer team are still on for Tuesday, November 12, despite the snow day. They will run from 5:30 – 8:00 PM at Baseline’s Cafeteria as originally scheduled. Middle school cheer tryouts are cancelled for today and will resume tomorrow, Wednesday (11/13).
Competitive Cheer for both MS and HS will begin practice on Monday, November 11 at the Baseline Middle School Cafeteria. Middle school competitive cheer is open to girls in grades 6-8 and will practice from 2:45-5:15. High school will practice from 5:30-8:00 pm.
