The Lady Rams last night suffered a tough loss last night in conference play to a very strong Three Rivers team. The Wildcats jumped out early to an 11-0 run before SH was able to put any points on the board. South Haven from the beginning struggled with turnovers and Three Rivers capitalized on every one ending the 1st quarter of play TR-28 SH-6.

The Second Quarter the Rams started to make a little momentum get several shots to fall but Three rivers continued to make almost every shot they took.

‘We played Soft. We looked scared, acted scarred and played scarred. it was really surprising how intimidated we looked on the court. We told the girls Three Rivers was going to come out hungry after losing to Plainwell last Friday and they did. I really thought we would have came out the same way but from the beginning it was just silly mistake after mistake.” Coach Holland said. ‘You cant expect to compete when you have 19 TO in the first half, and we hadn’t made that many in the last 3 games.”

In the second half the Lady Rams continued to struggle with not being able to make baskets and Three Rivers didn’t seem to miss. The Wilcats opened the lead even more hitting several 3 point baskets finishing the quarter over the Rams 19-6.

Only in the fourth quarter the Rams seem to settle down and start playing solid defense, limiting the easy shots and managing to work some offensive sets. But the lead was just too damaging to the Rams, suffering their 2nd loss of the early season 68-29 sending them to 2-2.

” They just didn’t miss and we just couldn’t hit anything. We got plenty of good looks, we just couldn’t get them to fall and that mixed with your opponent shooting over 75% from the field it was just too much. The bright side was we did get back 2 of our 4 girls who are out with injuries. I was happy with what we saw from Maddie (Sardina) and Jordyn (Holland). Though we were limited with their minutes, they both showed they are ready to get back in and produce.” Coach Holland added.
