For the second night in a row the South Haven lady Rams laced them up at home and come away with two more wins!! Both the JV and Varsity lady Rams took on the Vikings of Bangor tonight in Game 2 of the 2018-2019 season.

The JV lady Rams Open the night with 57 to 4 blowout.

“It was a great win for the girls. I was really happy with how we started the game. We came out with a lot of fire and intensity. It really showed in our press and allowed us to take control early. It was a great team game everybody contributed on both ends.” Said Coach Ben Jury of his JV team.

The varsity ladies open up the game at an even pace for the first quarter ending the period 11 to 8. But at the break the lady Rams made a few adjustments defensively and offensively and took charge in the second quarter. With a score of 25 to 8, going into halftime with a 36 to 16 lead.

“The girls really came out aggressive in the second quarter. We were able to get a couple 10 second violations with our press and forced several early time outs from Bangor. I was really proud of how they moved the ball around and fed the ball to our post players to get them involved early. We have a lot of size on this team and it showed on the boards tonight.” Said head coach Joey Holland

In the second half the lady Rams continued to play aggressive and were able to cruise to a 57 to 30 Victory.

“We just played really great team basketball tonight and I’m really proud of how they played together. This team has a lot of talent and they all continue to encourage each other and keep each other positive on the court. It’s easy when you’re up on a team and start to get a little lazy, but we didn’t do that tonight and it was nice to see.” Coach Holland added.

Leading the lady Rams tonight was Connie Phillips with 17pts, 10 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 assists. Also contributing to the lady Rams victory were Yazzmine Hall with 14pts, 14 rebounds, and 2 assists. Grace Lyons finished with 12pts, 5 assists and 3 rebounds and Alexus Smith with 6pts, 11 rebounds and 2 assists.

Bangor was led by Keyona McGee with 13pts and 12 rebounds

The lady Rams get a day off tomorrow while they prepare for their third game in just four days as they prepare for a Cross Conference match up with Sturgis Friday evening. JV starts at 5pm with Varsity following at 6:30.
