Last Friday night the lady Rams took on division rival Paw Paw.
The first half of the game the rams did almost everything right with the exception of 1 particular statistic. Free throws. In the first half the lady Rams went to the free-throw line in the first half lady Rams went to the free-throw line 13 times. Which was part of the game plan according to Coach Holland .
“ our main goal was to make sure we focused on getting the ball to her post players and putting Paw Paw in foul trouble early. Coach Holland said. “We did that part right, we just couldn’t make the free throws when we got there. We went 3 for 13 from the line in the first half and somehow we were only down by five at the half. You just can’t throw away opportunities like that in our conference”
In the second half the lack free-throw shooting continued To be a struggling factor for the lady Rams. The Rams continued to get the posts involved but only went 2 for 8 in the second.
“ It’s a bit frustrating when you practice so much on free throws and you finish the night only 5 for 21 from the line. I was very happy with the effort and hard work girls played with All 4 quarters but we’ve got to find a way to start making our free throws and putting in ourselves in situations to get wins.” Coach Holland added. “We did so many good things in this game in the come away with a loss because of our free-throw shooting really stings”
