The boys track team competed well against Allegan and Dowagiac at their home meet on Tuesday, April 10th. They all worked very well as a team with many stepping up to get the win against Dowagiac and a very close meet with Allegan. The final score against Allegan is Allegan 71 and South Haven 66. The final score against Dowagiac is South Haven 98 and Dowagiac 35. In the field events Marcus Guinn placed second with a throw of 36′ and in the discus Marcus placed 1st with a throw of 111’09 a personal record. In the high jump Carsten Ansinn placed 1st clearing a height of 5’9″. In the pole vault, Vance Locker placed 2nd against Allegan and 1st against Dowagiac vaulting 10’6″ a personal record. Finally in the long jump Kian Ferguson placed 1st with a jump of 19’01” a personal record he was followed by Nathan Wyant and Chris Rainey both placing and earning points for the Rams. In the running events Andre Cobbs placed 1st with a time of 11.92 a season best, and Brendon Petty placed 2nd with a time of 12.08 a personal record. In the 200m Andre Cobbs placed first with a time of 23.87, a season best, Brendon Petty placed 2nd with a time of 24.56, and Kian Ferguson placing 3rd with a personal record of 25.12. In the 400m Chris Rainy placed first against Dowagiac and second against Allegan with a season record of 55.94. In the 800m Brian Thompson placed 1st against Dowagiac and 3rd against Allegan, Vance Locker placed 2nd against Dowagiac. In the 1600m Vance Locker placed 3rd against Dowagiac with a time of 5:08, a season record. In the 3200m Joe Nelson placed 3rd against Allegan and Dowagiac. In the 110m hurdles Corbin Fitch placed 1st against Dowagiac and 2nd against Allegan. In the 300m hurdles Corbin Fitch placed 2nd against Allegan and 1st against Dowagiac and Hunter DeVries placed placed 3rd against Allegan and 2nd against Dowagiac. In the 4×100 relay with a team of Andre Cobbs, Kian Ferguson, Brendon Petty, and Chris Rainey they placed 1st overall with a time of 47.04. In the 4×200 relay South Haven placed 1st overall with a team of Kian Ferguson, Nathan Wyant, Brendon Petty, and Andre Cobbs with a time of 1:37.89. In the 4×400 relay the team of Chris Rainey, Carsten Ansinn, Brian Thompson, and Joe Nelson placed 1st over Dowagiac and 2nd over Allegan with a time of 3:55.79. In the 4×800 relay the team of Carson Rooker, Brian Thompson, Vance Locker, and Joe Nelson placed 1st over Dowagiac and 2nd against Allegan with a time of 9:07.68.
