The boys varsity cross country team ran a strong race at MHSAA Division 2 Regionals on Saturday in Centreville, their last race of the season. Leading the Rams was Carson Rooker with a time of 18:01 he was followed by Vance Locker, Maddox Uckele running a PR of 18:31, Chandler Carey running a PR of 18:33, Brian Thompson and Joe Nelson. Joe Nelson is our current Senior Captain and has run cross country all 4 years at South Haven High School. He ran his last cross country race as a Ram on Saturday. Joe has a champion mindset and champion heart which will take him far in life. Overall, I am very proud of our season after graduating 3 of our top runners last year. Each and every single athlete stepped up this year to make it a successful XC season. Every time this team toed the line they were ready to put forth outstanding efforts to produce their best. Eastern Michigan University Women’s Head XC and Track & Field Coach Sue Parks says it best “As a team, you strive to put it all together and have that one special day when everyone shines. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t but regardless, the journey that you’ve all gone through together is pretty special!” Congratulations to the boys cross country team on their 2018 season. Go Rams!
