Middle and high school sports are eligible to begin practice as early as this Saturday, January 16. Below is a full list of start times and information.
Girls High School Basketball begins practice this Saturday and Sunday (1/16, 1/17). Players in grades 9 through 12 will practice together in a tryout format at South Haven High School Gym from 5:00-7:30 pm. Teams are NOT set and ALL GIRLS WHO ARE INTERESTED ARE WELCOME!!!! Players should bring a mask, running shoes, a t-shirt, gym shorts and a water bottle. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to tryouts for Covid-19 screening and sign in. Boys High School Basketball will also host their tryouts on Saturday and Sunday (1/16, 1/17). All grades (9-12) will try out together at the high school gym from noon to 2:30 on Saturday (1/16) and from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm on Sunday (1/17). Players are advised to bring water, proper athletic shoes and clothes, and a comfortable mask for practice. Players will be screened before practice and required to wear a mask while in the gym at all times. All questions can be directed to Coach Ryne Hagerty at email@example.com.
High School Competitive Cheer will resume practice on Monday, January 18. Practice will run from 5:00-7:30 pm in Baseline’s Cafeteria. Although the team has been practicing, WE NEED MORE GIRLS!!! Any high school student interested in participating is encouraged to try it out!!!! Interested participants should bring a mask, water, and wear athletic shoes and clothing. It is recommended that athletes arrive 15 minutes early for screening. Any questions can be directed to Coach Rachel Burson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
High School Boys Swim and Dive will begin on Monday, January 18 at the SH Pool. Practice will go from 2:45 – 5:30 pm. All boys interested, even those without competitive swim experience, are encouraged to give it a try. Questions can be directed to Coach Thomas Capps at email@example.com.
High School Wrestling will begin practice informally on Saturday, January 16 with a voluntary workout at the high school from 3:00-5:00 pm. Official practice will start on Monday (1/18) in the wrestling room from 2:30-5:00 pm. Participants are advised to bring athletic shoes and clothes, their own water, and a mask. Questions can be directed to Coach Brad Adamson.
Boys and Girls Bowling will begin practice next week. Details still need to be working out with Lakeside Lanes. That information will be available soon on this website and our Facebook page.
Finally, just a few additional reminders:
— You must have a physical in order to participate. Rules for physicals are a bit different this year and can be found HERE.
— Students must be keeping up with their schoolwork. We know that this school year has made academics difficult, but students must be passing their classes to compete. See your teachers or other support personnel if you need help.
