The girls track and field team traveled to the Bangor Invitational on Friday, May 3rd. The team placed 2nd out of 8 teams and everyone competed very well. In the running events Carmen Tencate qualified for the 100m final running a PR of 14.39 and placed 8th. In the 200m Ellie Frost placed 2nd with a time of 28.89. In the 400m Jordan Taylor placed 3rd and Ellie Frost placed 5th. In the 800m Marnie Frost placed 1st with a time of 2:31 and Summer Corke placed 3rd with a PR of 2:36. In the mile Marnie Frost ran a season best of 5:43 placing 2nd and Cate Frost placed 4th running a season best of 5:53. In the 4×800 the team of Rachel Weiss, Summer Corke, Marnie Frost, and Cate Frost placed 2nd. In the 4×4 the team of Jordan Taylor, Cate Frost, Summer Corke, and Leah Bennett placed 3rd. In the field events Ellie Frost vaulted 8’6″ placing 1st. In the high jump Marnie Frost placed 4th jumping 4’6″. In the long jump Carmen Tencate jumped a PR of 14’3″ placing 3rd overall.
The boys track team ran well at the Bangor Invitational on Friday, May 3rd and the team placed 6th overall. In the running events Brendon Petty placed 4th running a PR of 11.88 and Kian Ferguson placed 8th with a time 12.29. In the 200m Brendon Petty placed 2nd with a time of 24.05 and Kian Ferguson placed 8th with a personal record of 24.88. In the 400m Chris Rainey placed 2nd with a time of 55.84, a personal record and Brian Thompson placed 4th with a 56.93 a season record. In the 3200m Carson Rooker placed 6th, David Gonzalez placed 9th with a personal record of 11:33 and Osvaldo ran a personal record of 12:20. In the 110m hurdles Travis Jordan placed 8th in the final running a PR of 19.39. In the boys 4×800 the team of Max Campbell, David Gonzalez, Carson Rooker, and Joe Nelson placed 4th. In the 4×400 the team of Brian Thompson, Chris Rainey, Max Campbell, and Joe Nelson placed 6th overall. In the field events Marcus Guinn placed 5th in the discus with a throw of 108’09”. In the high jump Carsten Annsin placed 8th with a jump of 5’6″. In the long jump Kian Ferguson placed 3rd with a jump of 18’03”.
