The South Haven Track and Field Team finished their season Saturday at Zeeland as eight Ram Athletes competed at the MHSAA Track and Field State Championships. Placing for South Haven were:
Senior Paisley Sipes ran a PR 11:04.96 in the 3200 meters, finishing 4th in the state and earning all-state first team honors for division 2.
Freshman Ellie Frost also had a PR, clearing 10′ in the pole vault. Ellie finished tied for 11th in the state, and with three years remaining has a very bright future.
Junior Constance Phillips competed in the shot put and finished 25th with a best throw of 30′ 2 1/2″.
Runners Justin Postma, Jackson Schooley, Brian Thompson and Joey Nelson competed in the 3200 meter relay. The team finished in 30th place, with a time of 8:34.57. Senior Craig Thompson was on the original qualifying team, but did not run because of injury.
